1. The main beam structure is significantly strengthened:
Box beam is required: The 16-ton level basically no longer uses I-beam main beams, but adopts a closed box beam structure (usually a skewed box beam). This structure has stronger bending and torsion resistance, greater rigidity, and can effectively reduce the downward deflection during lifting.
Larger cross-sectional dimensions: The height, width and steel plate thickness of the main beam are significantly increased to withstand greater bending moments and shear forces.
Advantages: Ensure that strict deflection requirements can be met even under large spans (usually ≤ S/700 ~ S/1000), smoother operation, and more accurate positioning.
2. Strengthening of end beams and wheel groups:
Increase in the number of wheels: In order to disperse the pressure on the track (wheel pressure), the end beam usually adopts an eight-wheel design (i.e. 4 wheels on each side of the end beam), while 10 tons and below usually use four wheels (2 wheels on each side). This significantly reduces the wheel pressure of a single wheel and protects the track and the plant bracket.
The end beam structure is more solid: thicker steel plates and stronger structural forms are used, with better load-bearing capacity and torsion resistance.
Advantages: Adapt to larger loads, reduce the load on the plant structure, and operate more stably and reliably.
3. Lifting mechanism - large-tonnage electric hoist:
Special 16-ton hoist: A wire rope electric hoist with a rated lifting capacity of 16 tons (such as AS type, MH type or reinforced CD/MD hoist) must be selected. Its core components such as drum, reducer, motor, hook group, wire rope, etc. are designed and manufactured according to 16 tons, with higher strength.
Double brakes are more common: To ensure safety, lifting motors are usually equipped with dual brake systems (main brake + auxiliary safety brake).
Advantages: Provide safe and reliable 16-ton lifting capacity to meet the needs of heavy material handling.
4. Drive mechanism upgrade:
The driving power of the trolley is increased: In order to drive a heavier machine (main beam + hoist + load), the motor power of the trolley is larger than that of the 10-ton model, and the "three-in-one" drive unit has higher specifications.
The trolley runs more steadily: The electric hoist trolley runs along the lower flange of the reinforced main beam, and the drive mechanism also needs to match the larger load.
Advantages: Ensure the stability and controllability of starting, running and stopping when fully loaded.
